I'm Amused!

Warning -Picture Heavy Post Ahead!

Good morning! I'm happy to report that while my ear is still pretty clogged up, my head is finally starting to de-clog! Yippee! I went to the doctor on Wednesday & she said I had a severe sinus infection & gave me some antibiotics.  Who knew a sinus infection could kick your butt so bad?!?! Yesterday was the first day I cleaned my house in almost two weeks~it took me twice as long to do with all my breaks but it's done! Lol My hubby tells me I have "issues" about cleaning ~ I just like a clean house ~I get annoyed when it starts getting crusty, that's all. He's a man & his "crusty" level is different than mine! lol

I got some more signs painted yesterday & a few wooden pieces my sis has left me to paint for her. Here's the pile I need to stain today.

I'm going to add some stakes to these for the yard - think I'm going to try to sell @ craft show in a couple of weeks

I also finished up a few more salt dough bowl fillers - I made these flowers & some more daisies. It took me all week to finish them ... lol I have a crow & pig cookie cutter on the way ~I can't wait to make some bowl fillers from those!!! I free handed a few crows the other day & it took me FOREVER! I was very happy I found a cookie cutter on ebay!

I almost forgot! Cody's musical was really cute on Tuesday! All the kids did such a great job! It was hard to get a really good picture of him ~ the girl in front of him was kind of tall but here's a few pics of my lil man. I was one proud momma!

Sorry this post was so picture heavy! I feel like I haven't posted in ages!! I hope everyone has a great & productive weekend...I pray there aren't anymore deadly storms ~ my heart aches for all those poor people. It's so sad. Hopefully everyone is safe & happy this weekend!

Happy Tuesday Morning

Good morning! Boy it feels like FOREVER since I've done a post!!! I've had a terrible cold for the last week or so that has now changed into a mild cold/earache! I'm hoping by the end of the week to be feeling better ~if my ear still hurts tomorrow I'm going to have to break down & go to the doctor :(!

 Anyways~ I hope everyone had a wonderful ~ blessed Easter! We had a great time at my mom's for lunch. As always there was way too much yummy food! :) Since it was rainy & soggy here in Ohio we had a Easter egg hunt inside for the kiddos.  We only have 5 lil ones in the family & two are actually not so little anymore but they are the most fun to watch ~ they can never find the eggs! hehehe Not sure if it just cause they are teenagers (15 &16) & don't pay as much attention but both of them were last to find their eggs...it was really fun!

I haven't gotten much created around here since I haven't felt good ....I started some different salt dough bowl fillers last night & worked on a few planter boxes made from old drawers for a craft show my mom & sis & I are going to be doing in a few weeks. My lil man has his first school program tonight & has a "speaking" part so we'll be going to watch that tonight! I'm very excited!! :) It's a musical about animals & they get to get their faces painted~ I think it'll be really cute! I'll share pics tomorrow!

Before I go I wanted to show you my lil man playing in the mud puddle in our side yard yesterday ~ he had a blast ~ he was shocked I said he could jump in it ~I'll probably regret it when it dries out but at least he had some fun!

A few bargains & some narcolepsy

Good morning!! Boy was I surprised to see the sun shining today! It is so bright & cheery out~I'm loving it! After I dropped the lil man off at school this morning I headed to the post office to mail out my etsy package! (i'm still highly amused! (: )Then off to the Salvation Army I went ....I haven't been for awhile - haven't had the time or money really but I wanted to see if I could find any cool cookie cutters so I headed across town. I didn't find a single cookie cutter but I did manage to spend a whopping $1.68 for these two things:

this little sampler was .59 -even had a picture frame

this little shelf was .99 -they originally wanted $4.99 for it!! luckily all pink tags were .99 today or it would still be @ the store! lol

I don't know if all the thrift stores are like this but the few in my town seem to be really outrageous on stuff these days ~ thrift stores are supposed to be for the poor people! It just blows my mind what they put on stuff. I found a long skinny paddle board today too but they wanted $5.99 for it! It was crazy!

Anyways~ Even though it's beautiful out I'm draggin butt today. I didn't get much sleep last night thanks to the dear old hubby. I think he has narcolepsy or something.  He fell asleep in the chair around 9 last night & when I went to bed at 12:30 I managed to get him up(which very rarely happens once he's asleep) & had him go to bed ... I wish I would've left him in the chair! lol He went to our room & feel into bed sideways -on top of the cover-in the middle of the bed!!! I couldn't get him to move for nothing! So I managed to squeeze diagonally into bed -feet hanging off the edge & after about 45 mins I fell asleep only to be woke up again @ 3:30 when he finally was uncomfortable & woke up & was ready to get in bed the right way! UGH! He drives me crazy! I always tell him someone could come in & steal me & the boy away & he wouldn't even know it! He can sleep anywhere & through anything! Does anyone else's hubby do this? I don't mean to complain~I really do love him but I think I'm going to have to take me a nap to make it through the day. Darn! (hehe)

Well that's about all I've got today ~ hope everyone enjoys their Thursday! My son will be home tomorrow but the hubby is going to work some OT so I'm going to find something fun for just the two of us to do. :) Have a great day!

Just a quick hi!

Good morning! I can't believe it's Wednesday already!! This week is flying by!! We spent the weekend working on my dad's house & got all the "gutting" done.  :) On Saturday night we had some friends over for my hubby's bday & had a lot of fun. I can't wait till the weather stays nice so we can spend more time outside.  I did get some more rocks for my back flower bed ~ my dad's new house is out in the country & there was a rock pile down the road from it with a sign that said "FREE STONE"! I was soooo excited! lol The hubby helped me get a truckload of rocks & even unloaded most of them for me. :) I was very amused!

I was very excited to see this morning that I sold some bowl fillers on my ETSY yesterday!! WHOO HOO! My first sale!!!  I'm getting ready to work on some more today.  Last night I made up a batch of star ones ~ I'm excited to see how they look painted. I ran out of flour or I would've probably made a couple of batches ...I was in the salt dough mood!

Other than that I haven't gotten much done. I don't have any plans for the rest of the week so I'm hoping I can get some projects done. It's dreary & soggy here...it was storming bad last night & I'm a big weenie so I didn't sleep too well!   I hope everyone has a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Friday!!

Happy Friday everyone! I wanted to drop in & say thanks for the birthday wishes for my hubby yesterday! I just finished up a piece of ice cream sandwich cake for breakfast! lol Sweets are sooo my weakness! We ended up going out to the local Italian restaurant for supper which was really yummy! Other than that we didn't do anything exciting to celebrate - Cody & his cousin Kaylee made him some cards & some banners. I thought they were going to burst waiting on him to get home from work! It was so cute! Kaylee wanted to know if we were going to have a "yatta" (pinata) @ his party! lol She cracks me up! I got his Chevy sign finished before he got here yesterday (thank goodness!) I wanted to cut the sign out as the actual Chevy symbol, but I couldn't get my saw to cooperate! :( The hubby said he'd fix the saw for me so I'm going to give it another try soon!

I finished painting a rocking chair last night. I don't know if I'm going to keep it or try to sell it-I don't really have any where to put it.

Well that's all I've got to share this morning. I probably won't get much done around my house this weekend ... my dad just bought a new "fixer-upper" house & we are going to be helping him gut it. I'm actually getting ready to leave in a few minutes to help. lol  I hope everyone has a great weekend!



A beautiful day for a birthday!

O what a beautiful day we are having here in Ohio!!!  It is the 60s & just absolutely gorgeous! Today is my hubby's birthday so we will be having some yummy ice cream sandwich cake & tatertot casserole for supper....I'm working on a "Chevy" sign for him for his garage...I've got to get it finished before he gets here  this afternoon! lol Nothing like procrastinating!  My niece will be over this afternoon so I'm going to have Cody & her make a "happy birthday" banner to hang up...they should be amused with that!

Luckily yesterday's lock down only lasted a couple of hours & I had lots of time left to play outside! I was very productive inside & out ~ Got my craft room cleaned (FINALLY!!), finished painting 7 new signs & got them stained & expanded my backyard flower beds!

Going into lockdown!

Hi everybody! I can't believe it's Wednesday already!! The week is flying by ~ I haven't gotten anything accomplished yet! I just wanted to drop in & say "HELLO".  I am making myself clean my craft room today - I know I've said that before but today I am actually going to FINISH it!! I'm not leaving this room until it is done! Hopefully it won't take me ALL day but we'll see!  Here's a few pics of my mess I'm about to tackle! lol

The only exciting happenings around here has been my lil man lost his 3rd tooth AT school the other day! He was soooo excited!

Waitin on Sunshine

Hi! I'm sure glad it's Friday!! I was trying to clean up my posts that I've had this morning-I wanted to delete the ones that were just drafts that I've never finished & I accidentally deleted the one I posted last night! I was sooo mad I had to get up & do something else for awhile! Ughhh! I went & cleaned the house & now that I've mellowed out I decided to try again! lol  So in case you missed it, I redid my washboard & turned it into a candle board this time...I think it turned out ok - think I'm going to get me some longer candles this weekend though.

It's dreary & cold again here in Ohio BUT it's supposed to be in the 70's tomorrow & maybe even 80 on Sunday!! Whoo hoo! I can't wait.  I want to get started on my back yard. It's a mess! We've lived here for 3 summers now & I've got the front of the house pretty well done, all except I need some taller "junk" for beside my steps.  But unfortunately my back yard is just yuck! We need to fix our leaning fence, plant some grass, I want a patio....I could go on & on! lol I've got my list ready & some inspiration pics too, now I just need some good weather!! Here's what I'm dealing with:

I want to put a patio area under the tree -it's our only shade. Also I'm trying to decide what to do with the little concrete pad we've got too-it's not big enough for our table & chairs but hubby thinks we should keep it- So I'm trying to decide if we should "expand" it or just remove it?!? It's not in my "ideal" location either

here's 1 of my front flower beds -see the chair? my mom made it for me for Mother's Day last year but I think I need to move it over & put something else right there-maybe a cool old broken dresser with some flowers in it or a birdhouse on a pole?!?

here's my arbor my hubby made for me last fall -it's from an old porch my dad tore off of one of his houses - I really love it but I'm thinking about painting it - maybe like a red or even mustard or even a teal blue?!? Our house is soooo white! lol

So there's what I plan to work on this weekend...hopefully when you see my yard again it'll be MARVELOUS!! lol

A Snowman Makeover

I'm happy to report that my case of the BLAHs is starting to pass.  Around 6ish tonight I got my urge to craft back ....whoo hoo! Now hopefully it lasts into tomorrow -I need to finish the projects I started today! lol

Here's the only one I DID finish today ~ (I had major OCD with this!)

I know you are thinking the title of this post is a little out of season, right?!? A snowman makeover?!? It's April!! Right?!?! Well I have a huge collection of snowmen & not such a big house so I decided it was time to part with one of them.  Now I've been wanting a prim angel for my garden for awhile but I haven't found one I like or one I could afford so here's what I came up with.

 I'm so excited! Her hair is rungs from a lil ladder I had lying around that was falling apart.  Her wings are a piece from an old dresser that I've been saving for just the right project & her nose is a piece off of the perpetual calendar I redid! Thank goodness I'm a wood hoarder & had the stuff laying around!

I just LOVE how it turned out! Now all I need to do is seal her up & she'll be ready for the yard!

Happy Friday!! My morning started out extra early today. My hubby leaves around 5 every morning & usually I barely remember his alarm going off but today I couldn't go back to sleep after my goodbye kiss.  So about 5:30 I finally decided I wasn't going back to sleep & got up! That's amazing for me! I barely get up @ 7-7:30ish every morning to get the kid off to school! Poor lil man is always having to hurry to get ready! I just can't manage to get up unless I HAVE to!

Anyways ~ today was the first yard sale of the season! WHOOO HOOO! My sis Angie came & picked me up & we headed over...it was kind-of a sad lil sale but I managed to find a few goodies.  Here's what I got :

the little water can 25 cents

candle tray 10 cents

3 yellow candle holders 25 cents for all three (going to turn these into flowers for outside - saw some on someone's blog (can't remember who-sorry!) -I'd found 3 @ salvation army couple wks ago too. I think they'll be really neat when they are done.

I also got 2 shirts for the hubby & a pair of Doc Martin steel toed work boots for the BIL for $2!! ~they look brand new! So I spent $4.50 all together -it was worth it just for the boots! lol

Thanks to everyone who weighed in on my redo yesterday.  I found a label(kinda-couldn't find washboard labels so used a pic of an old washboard & printed it out) put it on this morning...Not sure I love it still, might keep looking for another label though. 

I also finished another redo I had started.
