Trash to Treasure Projects

I am still totally obsessed with my yard & finding something I can turn into a primitive "goodie" for my house. Althought it snowed 2 days ago here in Ohio I managed to find an inside yard sale today @ a local American Legion. I was very amused that I found a couple more "projects" .... Here they are...

before after

(As you can tell I haven't quite figured out this blogging thing yet but I'm working on it :) )

I think they turned out pretty primitive-ish. I just put a coat of coal black on them & then lightly sanded them after they were dry. For $2.50 I have two new things to add to my house. I might try to find some berries or something to put in them, but I'm not sure where to find them cheap...and cheap is what I need them to be!
Well that's all I have for today... hope this week is warmer than the last couple of days so I can get back in the yard. I'll keep posting my "goodies" as I find them. Happy treasure hunting!!

Yard Work

I loved working in my yard all last week. This morning it is raining like crazy here in Ohio, so there will be no yard work today. At first I was a little disappointed but as I look around my dirty house, I guess it is for the best. If it was nice out, once again my chores would be neglected!
I worked hard on planting some flowers my mom gave me this weekend & tried to edge out all my flower beds. They still need some "tweaking" but they don't look too bad. I'm still trying to diet....I'm hoping this week will be better. At least I've been active in the yard. I was so tired last night I went to bed @ 8pm!!!
I'm obsessed with finding some kind of "treasure". It is almost yard sale & flea market season & I CANNOT wait till it gets here!! I get my love of "junkin" honest from my mom & grandma. They both have always loved finding something for free or cheap and fixing it up to something special. I have the same love. On thursday I found 2 wicker chairs & a cool old window out on the curb on trash day. I was totally amused!

Here's to hoping the rest of the week is sunny & full of new "treasures"!
