I recently won a giveaway @ http://oldecountrycupboard.blogspot.com/ & my gift arrived in the mail today!! Boy am I excited! I was expecting to get a gingerbread beeswax figure but I would've never guessed I'd been so lucky to get two bags of them!! Plus I got some of the cutest beeswax shoes EVER!! Thank you Sandy so much! These are my first beeswax items & I just LOVE them!! If you guys haven't stopped by her blog you SO should!

A lil sneak peak

Hi!! It's been awhile since I've done a post so I thought I'd jump on here & do a quick one tonight. Summer is just flying by ~ school starts in a month already!! I just can't believe it!

I've been busy working on my bedroom redo.  I'm happy to report that it's almost finished.  I've just got to finish hanging the stuff back on the wall (need the hubby to help me make some crows for one wall too) & I'll be done! I must say I'm lovinin it already! I was going to paint it tan but when I went to the store I found some mistinted off white paint for $7.50 (& since I'm a cheap-skate) I bought it instead. I'm really glad I did ~ I think it turned out nice.

I'll post the "finished" room pics in a couple days when I get done so you guys can tell me what you think :o).

The hubby & me went to a few yard sales on Saturday.  The only thing I found was a set of pictures for the bedroom for $5 for the pair! I was so excited! I was looking online the other night for the same "style" of prints but couldn't afford any! The hubby thinks they are creepy but I like them so that's all that really matters, right?!? lol

I just LOVE them!! I'm betting they were expensive when they were new because the back is all covered in paper & the frames are pretty nice.

Other than the bedroom redo we haven't done anything too exciting.  It's been EXTREMELY hot here & our little pool has taken a turn for the worse ~ all week it was green & I can't get it back to being clear enough to even get in it. Plus the ring around the top seems to have a little hole because it keeps trying to deflate on us. :( I'm very disappointed.  I think we might just say forget it & get rid of it. I hate to empty it out & refill it (we have city water that is already outrageous!) just for it to be green again in a day or so. I don't know.  Thank goodness we have central air.  I would kiss the person who invited it if I could!! lol

Well I'm off here to work on a swap I'm finishing up.  I hope everyone has a wonderful week.  Try to stay cool!!

Hi!! I actually have a few re-dos I wanted to stop in & show you.  It's been so long since I've actually finished something ~ I'm pretty amused! (I know -I'm a big dork!! lol)

I have one more "in the works" - it's a neat big bowl that is missing one of the round feet it sits on & I've got to get another one to replace it ~ so maybe next week I'll have it to share.

It's a whopper!!

My weekend has been filled to the brim! Friday me & Cody began stripping the wallpaper in my bedroom.  He was very amused! Go figure a 7 year old who likes tearing stuff up!! LOL I wasn't going to have him help but he came in to see what I was doing & then he was hooked! We worked on it for a few hours & it seems to be coming off pretty good. I'm going to finish it up this week & try to paint next weekend.

After Cody left with his dad, we decided to head up to Lake Erie & get a fish sandwich from Jolly Rogers Seafood House.  Boy was it yummy!!! It was nice to just go for a lil road trip with the honey (it took us about 1 1/2 hrs to get there!).

Then yesterday my mom & me went to some yard sales for a few hours.  We didn't find a ton of treasures but it was really nice to spend some time with each other.  I can't remember the last time we've went yard salin just the two of us!! So that was lots of fun. 

When I got home I had a package on my steps! I had won a giveaway from Tamera @ Country At Heart a lil while back & my prize had arrived!! I was very excited to see what was in the box...and boy I wasn't disappointed at all! Look at the adorable candle board she sent me! It is just perfect! She put so much time & thought into it ~ I just LOVE it! Now I've got to find the perfect spot for it. :)

She also sent me some very yummy smelling blueberry cookie tarts! I could smell them as soon as I started opening the box! Thank you again Tamera! I love it all! If you haven't checked out her blog - get on over there! She's one of the sweetest people I've met in blogland! Thanks Tamera for being my blogging friend!!

When the hubby got home a lil while later he announced he wanted to head to Shelby (about an hour away) to get some parts for his parents' lawnmower he's trying to fix.  I said "ok" & off we went.  When we get to Shelby they were in the middle of a parade! They were having some kind of festival & we had to cut around everyone/thing just to get to our destination!! We went to Glen's Surplus aka The Shelby Mall.  Now this was my first visit & I wasn't sure what to expect. The hubby said they had a little bit of everything & he wasn't kidding!! It was a huge old crusty warehouse that had lawnmower parts ~ tools~clothes~prim/country decor~machines~tires~wallpaper~holiday decor ~ anything you could imagine ~ they had!! I was pretty amused with their prim/country decor.  I told the hubby I could stay in there for days!!! I managed to control myself & picked out a wooden star & an old RC Cola crate.

After our trip to Shelby we had to hurry & get ready to leave AGAIN!! One of the guys my hubby works with was having a HUGE party & we were invited.  They had like 5 bands, some pretty awesome fireworks, food & a huge bonfire.  It was a great time.

So now today we're trying to get a few things done around the house before we go pick Cody up @ 6pm.  I've missed my lil man BAD this weekend & can't wait to see him!! Our poor lil pool was neglected all weekend!! lol

Well I'm off here to work on the mountain of dishes ~ sorry this post was a lil long! I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday & gets some relaxin in before back to work tomorrow!!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Just wanted to stop in & say a quick "HI"!!!

It is raining here today so we won't be lounging in our pool at all ~ the poor kid won't know what to do all day!! lol

 SO I'm going to attempt to catch up on some housework & get started on my bedroom.  Thanks to you guys who left your opinion...it looks like majority agrees the wallpaper should go & the walls (paneling & all) should be the same color.  Whoo hoo! That's really what I was hoping to hear to be honest.  We'll see how I feel about it after I get started! lol 

Before I go I want to share a few pics of my flowers ~ my hydrangea is finally trying to bloom.  I have 2 plants ~ one in the front bed & one out back.  The one out back doesn't even attempt to bloom & the one up front only has gotten this 1 bloom for the 2 years I've had it. :( Not sure what it needs but I'm excited it's finally trying to bloom.

And my hollyhocks finally started to bloom too!! My sister has some too & hers have been blooming for weeks & she only lives like 15 mins away!

I just LOVE these! My grandma always had a ton of them behind her garage ~ they were always so pretty!

Well I'm off to get to work ~ wish me luck!!

Pondering a paint job ~ Opinions needed Please!!

I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July!! I know we had a great time at my mom's on Monday.  Lots of good food & family! :) It was a great day!!

We've been spending the days loafing about in our little pool.  Today my niece aka Princess came over & swam with us. At first she was a little scared(this is like her third time in the pool) but by the end of the day she wasn't scared a bit! She was supposed to stay all night but at bedtime she decided she wanted to go back home so I ran her home ... I know she was worn out! Maybe she'll sleep in for my sis tomorrow! :)

I still haven't accomplished any crafty projects lately but I am thinking about redoing our bedroom.  Last summer I had the same thought but never got around to it ~ but it's really driving me crazy!! My hubby doesn't understand why I want to change it (men NEVER understand!) ~ he says I'm the one who picked out the wallpaper ~ which is true & at the time I really thought I would like it but now I'm not overly amused. I finally got my dad to agree to let me paint the paneling (he's the landlord!) & now the hubby doesn't think I should!!! 

Here's some pics I took last summer ~ let me know what you think I should do. I really want to redo the room - I have new decorations up now but I still dont' like the walls.

this is a portion of the floor to ceiling paneling ~ I couldn't get my original pic to load & the one I took tonight I had forgot to clean off my dresser ~ so I "edited" out all my junk!! lol

This section is like 5 feet long I'd say.

SO ~~ I need some opinions.  Here's what I'm thinking about doing

a) Removing wallpaper - painting all the walls and paneling same color

b) Removing wallpaper -painting top of wall one color (tan maybe?) & painting paneling another color (perhaps off-white?!?)

c)Leaving wallpaper & just painting the paneling (again maybe off-white?!?)

d) Just leave it like it is

Whoever put the paneling up in our house really didn't have a plan I don't think. Every room except the bathroom has at least 1 wall with it on it -only the hallway is completely paneled & it's only like 2' x 10' maybe (it's tiny -we have a tiny house! lol) Our bedroom would've been so much better if they would've just put it on the bottom of the whole room. But no they put it on the bottom on 2 full walls -then 1/2 of another wall & finished that wall all the way to the ceiling?!?! Then started another wall with it to the ceiling (which is mostly covered by a closet but still!)  I wouldn't mind the paneling so much if it seemed to have a rhyme/reason.

I need some help.  B-A-D!!
