My tiny little bedroom - Please Help!!!

I need some opinions.... I live in a tiny little house.  It's maybe 850 sq ft but that's ok.  I LOVE our little house.  My sister is always saying how her house is so much bigger and I could have more "stuff" if my house was bigger but I really don't want too much more stuff.  Hoarding runs in my family - not the hoarding like tv show- but the knick knack & furniture type! lol Anyways - I love our little house but I'm having severe issues with decorationg our little bedroom.  It all is centered around my massive bed....I have a queen sized wood sleigh bed that touches wall to wall.  The boys refer to it as my "princess" bed! I had to have it & I got it many moves ago. But it really is too big for our room.  I don't know if I should hang stuff at the head & foot of the bed or just the head?!?! But then all my pictures are on one side of the room.....I don't know what to do! I've never had so many problems with a room before in my life!!!!!

this is my bed - i had to stand over in the opposite corner by the door just to take this pic! lol (pls ignore my poor comforter...it's on the list of wants!)

Does anyone else have a tiny house with a tiny bedroom? If so do you have any suggestions?

I thought about turning my bed but then our dresser won't fit ....

Oh one more question for you.... I have this flower picture that was hanging where the green shelf is now.  It was my grandma's ... she passed away last November and I really like the picture but don't really like the frame.  I'm trying to decide if I should paint the frame or not?!?! I don't want to ruin it but it really doesn't fit in with the rest of my stuff.  It's very dear to me and I hate the thought of screwing it up...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! As you can see my poor little bedroom is in dire need of some help!

Thanks!
Rachel

rachel i swear i got the same issue .we finally after 18 years of marriage broke down and did something for ourselves.we got a sleighbed frame at big lots and it is gorgeous but had no idea how much room it really was gonna take up.we put it in front of window and the only thing i have done is hang a sign above window that says always kiss me goodnight.i pretty much have decorated all rooms except i bathroom and mine and of course the kids.they think im bonkers.i watch the hoarders show just so i can keep in check with others situations so i know if im getting bad or not..my grandmother was ahoarder but also not like the show she just bought everything, avon ,qvc,i think the worse was when my mother was alive she said when grandma passed we found like 200 rolls of toilet paper.must of had a fear of runnin out,i dont know.but my kids are always raggin on me sayin come on mom u dont need that.lol i would put the star at the other end with a little shelf below(im a big shelf freak)and i would hang a nice quilt at the end i thimk that would be cute.have a great weekend.blessings michelle

I say make over the frame! Paint it, grungy it up! As for the little room? I'm clueless! Can you remove the wall paper?

That is an easy fix. Remove everything and paint it. Even if you don't want to paint it, you can do a stain rub on it and change it drastically. It would darken it and grunge it up.
That's an really blank wall by your bed. You really should add some things to it to make it interesting. Candle sconces, twig wreath, shelf with some prim add ons.....I love the knotty pine and I see lots of people painting it but I would never paint it. I love the warm feel it gives the room.
All of our rooms are small with the exception of our great room which we rarely use. It's kind of a modern day parlor decorated in a very eclectic style.
I have run on enough but I would suggest you get a colorful quilt or comforter or even something draped over the end of the bed and some throw pillows......

I would redo the frame--that way you still have the original piece together, just updated. I can't really help with the bedroom. Our one bedroom is so small, that all you can fit in it is a single bed and small dresser chest--but now it's my art room and it's perfect for me!
