Giveaway Reminder & a quick hi!

Hi! I just wanted to drop in & do a quick post this afternoon.  I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day weekend ~ remember the courageous men & women who protect us each & every day & those who have passed away. I'm so very thankful to live in the USA!!

My weekend has been pretty good so far ~ today is my anniversary! The hubby let me sleep till 12:45!! Boy am I a lazy slug today!! lol I'm getting ready to go get "ready" so we can find something fun to do. I found a few yard sales yesterday ~ here's my goodies:

I only spent like $8 so I was very amused! I already started painting my new shelf ~ can't wait to finish it for our bedroom!

Well that's all I've got to share today.

Dont' forget my giveaway ends today ~ I'll be back tomorrow night with the winners! Thanks to everyone who has entered!

Enjoy your day!!

Happy Friday

Don't forget I'm drawing the winners of my giveaway on Monday May 30th so you only have a few days left to sign up if you haven't already!

Happy Friday!! I hope everyone has been enjoying their week! Mine hasn't been too bad  ~ The hubby is off till Tuesday (he even took yesterday off!) ~ Sunday is our 2 year wedding anniversary ~ it's Memorial Day weekend (whoo hoo bring on the summer!) ~ today is my lil man's last day of the 1st grade (sigh...where has time gone already?!?! It feels like he JUST started kindergarten! :O( ....sigh again!). We don't have any big plans for the weekend really  ~ we are going to go out to eat for the anniversary ~ Buca Di Peppo -it's an Italian restaurant. We've never been there before but I have a coupon for $10 off & I can't wait to try it! It sounds sooooo yummy! Then on Sunday we have a graduation party for my husband's cousin to go to ... but other than that who knows what kind of trouble we will find! ;O)My lil man has to go to his dad's house so it's our "kid-free" weekend! lol It's supposed to be pretty nice too ~ I'm hoping to talk the old man into a few yard sales ~ I'm itchin for a bargain!

I think part of my blogger problems may be fixed. I upgraded my internet explorer this morning & was able to leave comments on blogs with "pop-up" comments but not blogs with regular comment settings. I guess something is better than nothing! I've still been reading everyone's blogs but it's been VERY frustrating to not be able to comment! I'm sure some of you know the feeling!! lol

Well I'm off to try to talk the hubby into taking me to lunch or yard salin or something! I need out of the house!!

I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend. Be safe ~ I'll be back Monday to post my giveaway winners! (yea!!!)

Table drama,icecream,& veggies

Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone has had a wonderful week so far & haven't been affected by the terrible storms that seem to be EVERYWHERE these days. My hurt aches for all the poor people affected by the storms ~ they are all in my prayers.

I've been a bad blogger the past few days ~ I haven't gotten alot of creating done so I haven't done a post but today I thought I'd share with you my kitchen table I mentioned last week that I was repainting.  Now let me say about mid-way thru this I wanted to just throw the stinkin thing out the front door & give up!!! BUT I didn't (it was very hard ~ I was majorly regretting my decision to paint it!) & I'm happy that I refrained. I still need to get some polyurethane & seal the top of it this weekend but for now the top should be ok with just the stain I used.  Here's the pics:

the before

1st layer of black

didn't like the black so painted it all white -REALLY didn't like that so here is 1st coat of 2nd layer of black -also I had started painting the top yellow - the other 1/2 of the top was green which I had repainted white & then black (see why I wanted to throw it out?!? lol)
finished table - now I need to repaint my poor chairs (& dust them too I see!)

I just love how it turned out! The top isn't quite as bright as the pictures show - my hubby was really worried when I put the yellow on & hadn't stained it yet ~ he wanted me to leave it white but I really didnt' like that! So he was out voted (like usual!)

Other than the table "drama", things have been pretty lazy here. The icecream truck made it's maiden voyage for the year down our street today ~ Cody & the Princess got lucky - the hubby actually had some cash so they got some icecream! The Princess informed us that now she was not only saving her money in her piggy bank to go see Mickey Mouse (DisneyWorld) ~ she was going to save some for the icecream man too!! It was so cute! Got to love a 4 year old's thinking!

here's one of them just bein silly!

Oh & I forgot to show pics of my co-op garden that we planted on Sunday ~ it ended up just being me & my mom & step dad ~ my aunt decided she was too busy to help which was fine ~we got most of want we wanted planted. We planted tomatoes, corn, zuchinni, green bell peppers, green beans, cucumbers, pumpkins, gourds,& potatoes. I need to find some brocolli, jalepenos & a little yellow tomato plants still. I'm excited for it all to start growing! I want to try to make some pickles this year & maybe can a few things.

Don't forget my giveaway ends on Sunday May 29th.   I hope everyone has a great day & I hope BLOGGER gets its ISSUES worked out soon!! I haven't been able to leave comments all day & I know I'm not alone! I've been reading everyone's posts I promise!!

Happy Sunday

Good morning!! It's a beautiful, bright sunny day again here in Ohio! I spent ALL day yesterday outside working in my flower beds  pulling weeds & moving my "junk" around. It was great!! I even shared some plants with my neighbor Mr.B ~he needed "something" in front of his porch (he had NO flowers & is always commenting on mine) so I took over some daylillies & some black eyed susans & planted them for him. I can't wait to see the black eyed susans bloom ~ they are one of my favorites! I have 1 whole flowerbed of just them!! Here's some pics of my yard ~ I still need some mulch & the back yard still needs lots of work but it's getting there~ :O)

side of my house -can't even tell I took 4 chunks of daylillies out of here!

my GIGANTIC rose bush ~ I've even trimmed it once this year already! it was here when we moved in & was a puny little thing in another flower bed so I moved it & it has mutated! lol It's huge!

see the brown mailbox? picked it up off side of road yesterday ~ can't wait to get some annuals for it (my window boxes too!)

the rest are out back ~ as you'll see I need mulch bad! lol

a broken chair back I found with my mailbox yesterday

got the hubby to make me a path with some pavers mom gave me ~ we were going to make a patio but where we wanted to is all "rooty" so we changed plans ~ still going to work on it some more ~ need some gravel but it's getting there :O)

I'm off to find some tomato plants for the garden ~ I'm "co-op" farming with my mom & aunt & hopefully we can get some stuff planted today ~ it's been so rainy here we are WAY behind!! I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday.  Don't forget you have till next Sunday to sign up for my giveaway if you haven't already! (The link is on my sidebar!) Have a great day!!

Friendship Swap Goodies!!!

Boy it's going to be a good day today!! The mail lady brought me my Friendship swap package from Ronda over at http://simplthymeprims.blogspot.com/ & I am soooo AMUSED!!

Just look at all these goodies Ronda sent me!

She sent me some wool, a punch needle book, punch needle kit, punch needle pattern, some samples of the Zija health products she sells (which I'm drinking right now! It's actually pretty good! ), a couple adorable pads of paper ( I really needed these - I needed one for the fridge so maybe I won't lose my grocery list so often!), & 2 of the most adorable bugs I have ever seen!

Just look at the punch needle book ~  punch needle kit ~ & the super cute pattern she sent...I can't wait to sit down & read the book to figure out what to do! I had mentioned to Ronda that I loved her punch needle work & would love to learn how to actually do it some day & she was so sweet & sent me all the things I need to get started!

Here's where my bugs "landed"! I just LOVE them!

here's a close up of the bee
a close up of the ladybug
They are both so prim-tastic! Just look @ the antenna & wings! She puts so much detail into her work!

She also sent me an AWESOME pin keep - it's my first & I don't think I'll be able to actually put any pins in it because I love it so much! Think I'm going to leave it on the shelf in my kitchen ~it looks good there! :O)

Thank you so much Ronda for all the great gifts! I've had so much fun doing this swap ~ it was my first & thank you for being such a great swap partner & making it such a great experience!

If you haven't been by Ronda's blog ~ please stop over & see her. She makes such beautiful things.  Also her new grandbaby Karter was born @ only 27 weeks & could use all the prayers he can get.  She said he's doing great ~ that he's a tough lil guy, which is great. I hope he continues to be "tough" & grow & get to go home as soon as he can. My prayers are with Karter & all of Ronda's family.

Oh & thank you to Tricia over @ Hillcrest Home Prims for hosting the swap!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! I was trying to paint my kitchen table when the mail lady arrived so I'm heading back to it! I'll hopefully have some pics of it for you in a few days!

Primitives for sale button added

Hi! Just wanted to do a quick post to let everyone know I added a "Primitive Goodies for Sale" button (thanks to TCP for the great blog background & image!)  on my sidebar & linked up the stuff I listed on here for sale the other day.  I also added some bowl fillers @ the bottom of the page tonight too.  Let me know what you guys think.  I'm not very good at the pricing or descriptions so any advice would be great! Hope everyone has a great night!

Just a quickie!!

Good morning! I thought I'd drop in for a quick little post this morning. Yesterday wasn't my most productive day ever ~ most of the day I spent lazin around bein hormonal & tired! BLAH was how I was feeling! :(  One of the few things that amused me yesterday though was that when I checked the mail, my new stencil that I had won from http://folkartfromtheharbor.blogspot.com/ had arrived!! Whoo hoo! This baby is NICE! It's the biggest stencil I've ever seen! I can't wait to use it ~ I'm going to dig thru my wood pile & find me the perfect piece to use it on today. Thanks again to Becca & if you haven't checked out their blog -you should! I know I'll be ordering me some just as soon as I can!

I also wanted to share with you my new piece of garden "junk" I picked up after I dropped the kid off at school yesterday. My poor hubby just shakes his head ... lol ... he just doesn't understand! But I can't wait to make me a birdhouse to put on it :) I think it's really a cool color! It's more of an aqua blue in person ~ it's very cute in my flower bed!

Other than that, like I said I was pretty darn lazy yesterday! I'm going to try to finish working on a few things today ~ I've got to decide what I'm giving away for the "surprise" part of my giveaway since you guys helped me blow right past 100 followers! :D The sun was actually out this morning when we got up but the clouds have already came back. It's supposed to be nicer this weekend & I can't wait!! I hope everyone has a great Thursday ~ only 1 more day till the weekend! Whoo hoo!
