Quick Re-do

Happy Sunday!! I just wanted to do a quick post on a little redo I did at my house the other day....

In our kitchen the doorway to the back door / basement stairs was missing a piece of trim.  It has bothered me since we moved in... my husband doesn't understand, but that's a totally different post in itself!! lol Anyways ... here's a pic of before & after.  It feels much more finished now.

Hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend!

My tiny little bedroom - Please Help!!!

I need some opinions.... I live in a tiny little house.  It's maybe 850 sq ft but that's ok.  I LOVE our little house.  My sister is always saying how her house is so much bigger and I could have more "stuff" if my house was bigger but I really don't want too much more stuff.  Hoarding runs in my family - not the hoarding like tv show- but the knick knack & furniture type! lol Anyways - I love our little house but I'm having severe issues with decorationg our little bedroom.  It all is centered around my massive bed....I have a queen sized wood sleigh bed that touches wall to wall.  The boys refer to it as my "princess" bed! I had to have it & I got it many moves ago. But it really is too big for our room.  I don't know if I should hang stuff at the head & foot of the bed or just the head?!?! But then all my pictures are on one side of the room.....I don't know what to do! I've never had so many problems with a room before in my life!!!!!

this is my bed - i had to stand over in the opposite corner by the door just to take this pic! lol (pls ignore my poor comforter...it's on the list of wants!)

Does anyone else have a tiny house with a tiny bedroom? If so do you have any suggestions?

I thought about turning my bed but then our dresser won't fit ....

Oh one more question for you.... I have this flower picture that was hanging where the green shelf is now.  It was my grandma's ... she passed away last November and I really like the picture but don't really like the frame.  I'm trying to decide if I should paint the frame or not?!?! I don't want to ruin it but it really doesn't fit in with the rest of my stuff.  It's very dear to me and I hate the thought of screwing it up...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! As you can see my poor little bedroom is in dire need of some help!

Thanks!

Another Set of Victims

Well it's finally stopped raining in my neck of Ohio, at least for now! The yard is soaked & muddy...the kids (my son & my niece I babysit) are dying to go out & play and I'm almost tempted to let them go, but we'll have to see. Not sure I'm ready for 2 mud monsters to be in my house, especially since I finally cleaned today! lol

I wanted to show off my latest victims of my paint brush! My hubby started a new 2nd shift job last night and I was bored and it was raining...look I'm trying to rationalize me painting something else!! lol

Anyways my dad made me the little cabinet for me year before last @ Christmas. It's a trash can bin and we actually save our pop cans in it to recycle. And the little step stool I found at a yard sale a few weeks ago.  It's the perfect size for my niece to reach the bathroom sink.Anyways here's the before and after pics. I think they turned out pretty good myself! :)

Well I am being attacked by the kiddos, so I better get off here & defend myself! Hope everyone has a great night!

Rainy Monday

Happy Monday! It's a dreary, rainy day here in Ohio.  It's supposed to rain all day and I think tomorrow too so it looks like I'll be stuck inside for a few days! Which is good I guess, I can clean my filthy house and maybe work on something crafty! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Ours was spent outside working in the yard.  The hubby painted the outside of our fence with my dad's power/spray painter.  It turned out really good, but my flowers on the other side of the fence look like it snowed! LOL The over spray was worse than expected but I'm sure they'll be just fine.

I got a few things painted this weekend.  I redid a little shelf I had gotten at a rummage sale for $1.  It turned out a real nice shade of green when I was finished, which surprised me as I usually don't care for green.  Here's a pic of the before & after - I don't like the raggedy angel at the top -it had 2 heart cutouts that needed covered up though. I'm thinking about trying to remove that board all together - what do you think?

I also grungy-fied some plastic Easter eggs...the dollar store near my house had a pack of 18 for 10 cents after Easter so I bought 3 packs...I think they'll be cute in a bowl or a little nest....

I also painted some signs.  I was going to try to go to the flea market on Sunday but I didn't get that far.:( Oh well there's always next week!

I didn't think I had gotten so much done till I started typing this up! Looks like I did though!
I had better get some cleaning done while it's naptime! I hope everyone has a great week!

Sorry!

I just realized I had a few comments on some posts & didn't even know it! I'm sorry I didn't get back to anyone sooner! I really wasn't ignoring you I'm just new to this blogging stuff & didn't know they were there! Thanks to everyone who has stopped by - I'm very amused someone else in blog land has read my posts!  Thanks! :)

Cheap should be my middle name!

Well it's been a rainy, dreary week here in Ohio. Today it's finally a little sunny out but it's supposed to rain after while! :( I've been busy trying to get some stuff painted to try to sell @ the local flea market on Sunday. I hope I can sell a few things, I've really got a pile of stuff started and I think the husband is starting to think I'm crazy! LOL

Last night I decided I wanted to check ebay & etsy for a primitive soap dispenser for my bathroom. My bathroom is the least prim part of the house & I'm trying to change that...Anyways I got online & checked both websites and was shocked at the price for a soap dispenser!! The cheapest one was like $15 by the time I paid shipping!!! I just couldn't bring myself to spend that much for a soap dispenser! I'm just too darn cheap! So I decided I was going to "grubby" up my dollar store soap bottle. I forgot to take a before picture but it was just a plastic Jergens soap bottle I got for a $1. I got out the Mod Podge, cinnamon, and some coffee and got to work!  When it was dry this morning I painted a black star on it.  Here's how it turned out - I LOVE it now!

My poor hubby about died when I told him I "grubbied" it up! He says I have a problem with painting everything black and making stuff "grubby" :) but he humors me and tells me it looks good! Gotta to love him for that!

Here's 2 more things I've painted this week.  They both were 50cents each at a yard sale last weekend.  I don't have before pics but both were just plain wood color before I got a hold of them :)

I think I'm going to try to sell both of these on Sunday.

Well I've rambled on long enough. I hope everyone has a great weekend!!

Just one more .... please!

Happy Friday!!!  It's a little gloomy here in Ohio today but it's pretty warm so that makes up for it.  We are supposed to get some severe weather later today but I hope it turns out to be nothin much.  I'm a big weenie & can't stand storms! LOL!
Anyways.... the day started out Innocent enough...took my son to school, drove thru the neighborhood scopin out trash day, then off to the post office. Well the post office didn't open for 10 minutes, so me & my niece (she's 3) decided we'd find us 1 (only 1!) yard sale and then go back to the post office.  Well only 1 turned into about 10 or 12 and a whole car load of stuff!!! I hit this one yard sale and I thought I was going to die! There was all kinds of primitive/country decor....I couldn't get it scooped up fast enough it seemed! Everything was very cheap - got 3 sets of tan/black plaid curtains for $2.25!! I've already hung them up!lol... I bought a big jar with a lid for 50 cents but as I was leaving a woman offered me $5 for it so I sold it to her! I liked it but didn't know where I would put it, so I let it go and made some extra $$ for the next sale! It was crazy! I spent $11.50 there + $5 I made...so only a whopping $6.50...pretty good I think! :) All & all we turned our 10 minutes into an hour and a half and $22 but we're both very amused so that's all that's important anyways!

Here's a few pics of my stuff....

I hung the pineapple up in the kitchen and the other pair of scones is going to go in the living room

the Americana thing i got for my sister

I'm totally in LOVE with these curtains! I thought there were 4 pairs but turned out to be only 3 but it was still a great deal!

this whole pile of 8 puzzles was only $2! they look pretty old

everything in this pic was only 50 cents each!  I'm going to give my sister one of the double baskets

I just realized I bought 5 candle holder/sconces today! Oh well! I like them all!  I hope everyone has a great weekend! I'm looking forward to spending time with my family and maybe sneak a few more sales in too!

Happy Mothers Day!

Hello! Just as the title said -It was a beautiful day today in my neighborhood! It was in the high 70s and absolutely gorgeous!!
